Who is the facilitator of the program?
The facilitator of the program is Tracey McCurdy. She has worked in the welfare sector for the last twenty years and is a qualified Social Worker and Trainer and Assessor. She’s spent over a decade managing a range of Community Services programs including the Family Violence and Victims Assistance Program.
She also has a passion for martial arts and has been studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the last 9 years. She has seen in herself the benefits any kind of self-defence and situational awareness training can have and now wants to share this with others.

What is included in the program content?
The content of the training can be tailored to suit your business or organisations needs. The facilitator has extensive experience in training design and development and can ensure both the content and delivery method work for you!
For Occupational Violence and Aggression Training the content includes:

Predisposing factors and triggers for aggression and violence

Interpersonal factors that may contribute to aggression and violence

Recognition of early signs of increased agitation

Communication skills, including body language and use of micro skills

Verbal de-escalation strategies including conflict resolution

Non-verbal de-escalation strategies and techniques

All content is aligned to meet the duty of care requirements under the Work Health and Safety Act and the occupational violence and aggression training is aligned to the Department of Health and Human Services guide for violence and aggression training in health services.

The program includes a combination of instructional learning, role play, reflection, and simulation in addition to theoretical review.
